Group Sessions

Fall groups are currently enrolling at Path for Peace!

All groups at Path for Peace will use art, games, and experiences to help strengthen the learning process.

Kindergarten - Second Graders

Many children need help navigating social situations like joining in a conversation, making and keeping friends.  This group will help all be better friends.

Third- Fifth Grade Boys

At times our emotions come out of our body.  Excitement might lead to using our hands to give high fives and frustration might lead to pushing or grabbing.  This group will focus on friendship skills while also working on impulse control, flexibility, and frustration management.

Middle School Boys

Transiting to middle school can be hard!  Using games, projects, and art, this group will explore how to meet and maintain healthy friendships.  The group will process how to be assertive and flexible with others.

Middle School Girls

Middle School is hard.  This group provides girls with an opportunity to process with kind and validating peers while using art and games to make the difficulties a bit more fun.  Fall semester will also have a focus on anxiety management.

High School Girls

High School is a time of fun and friendships.  Although this can be an exciting time of life, it also has challenges.  This group will focus on learning about and loving ourselves.

Please call or email for more information.

Therapy

Creative Expressive Therapy

Traditional talk therapy is helpful for many adults, but children and adolescents need help expressing their thoughts and feelings.  I believe that the use of expressive modalities will allow children and adolescents to communicate in a natural manner so that the cause of behavior can be understood.  Also I feel that using creative expressive therapies help put the needed changes into children’s lives.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) believes that behavior is meaningful.  By looking at the function of the behavior, I can better understand why the behavior is in place and then replace it with a healthier behavior.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a great approach to help teenagers, young adults, and adults with any maladaptive behavior.  DBT is psycho-educational in nature, but I teach coping skills in a fun and engaging manner.

About Us

Meet Erin

I enjoy working with individuals and with their families to achieve peace and well-being.  I have years of experience working with anxiety, depression, and anger.  I also love working with family conflicts and resistant clients.  I use CBT and DBT techniques to help my clients learn healthy coping skills so they can create a life worth living.  I have an extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which can be greatly beneficial for all adolescents.  It can help with all manipulative behaviors including but not limited to suicidal thoughts, self-harming behaviors, explosive emotional outburst, isolation, anxiety, panic attacks, and disordered eating.  DBT can also help adolescents to more effectively communicate with their parents, handle difficult situations, and understand and control their emotions.

Erin is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor.

Meet Caroline

I enjoy working with individuals and families and have experience working with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

C(CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Art Therapy to help clients develop effective coping strategies and express themselves in meaningful ways. Art Therapy can be particularly beneficial for individuals who struggle with verbal communication or emotional regulation, providing a creative outlet for self-exploration and healing. My goal is to provide a compassionate, supportive space where clients can build confidence, gain self-awareness, and prioritize their well-being.

Caroline has MA in Art Therapy and is under supervision of Erin Holcomb, LPC, CPCS, MS.

Meet Banks

Banks is a certified therapy dog.  Erin and Banks are a team and are members of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.

Banks will always be happy to see you! He quickly remembers his friends, even after one visit. He will warmly greet you and ask for a belly rub. Once we are in our office, he will show you a few tricks and then take a nap.

Banks is happy to sit beside you or your child while working on achieving peace. Banks makes hard days better and difficult topics a bit easier to talk about. He can’t wait to meet you!
